I was part of a styling show last week with LSU's fashion organization called Hemline. Each stylist chose a decade ranging from 1920's to 1990's and styled a vintage look reminiscent of the decade. Each look walked the runway to Oh Land's upbeat song Renaissance Girls, on May 14th at Hemline's Catalyst fashion show. It was awesome!
I love 70's fashion so naturally, I chose that decade. Time Warp, a Baton Rouge vintage boutique, was kind enough to allow all stylists to pull garments and accessories from their shop to style their vintage looks for the show.
Stevie Nicks' bohemian, yet edgy cool sense of style inspired me while I styled my look. My model Brooke McMichael wore a gorgeous 70's cream maxi dress with crochet at the neckline.
I accessorized the dress with a multi-toned metal statement belt, 2 chunky bangles, and rings piled on her fingers. To provide an edge to the overall vibe of the look, I added black lace-up ankle boots to complete the outfit.
Some photos from the runway [ I let her hair down right before so it'd be nice, voluminous and very 70's :) ]
I love how this shot captures the movement of the fabric on the runway :)
